Seismic Navigators
PGS is taking a further step in the leadership of marine acquisition by expanding its fleet. If you are a new graduate, or an experience seismic professional who would like to develop your career in the most advanced and efficient offshore working environment in the industry, read on.
Life onboard a seismic ship is hands-on and can be intense. We are looking for practical individuals with strong team skills.
If you have a technical, engineering or analytical background and think that you are up to the challenges of working in a professional offshore team, then we want to hear from you.
As navigator, you will plan the survey acquisition in accordance with the contract. You will operate the Integrated Navigation System, where information from satellite and sonar technology together with gyro and compass data is channelled, collated and processed to position hundreds of survey nodes to accuracies within 5 metres. Your responsibilities will include Quality Control of positioning data and associated deliverables, fault-finding and the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. You will also liaise with client representatives to ensure their expectations are fulfilled.
