As a trainee in Nordic Energy, you will be part of Norway’s largest environment for production optimisation and sale of power to Nord Pool. You will get in depth knowledge of the Nordic hydro power market and system, and you will learn how to apply advanced hydrological models and data as a basis for work on price prognoses and production. The Business Area Market Operations & IT is responsible for Energy Management of Statkraft’s European assets, including analyses and long term price forecasts, and Trading & Origination. In addition the Business Area includes Finance, Risk & Business Support and provides IT services for all of Statkraft. The Nordic Energy unit is responsible for one of Europe’s largest hydro power portfolios, with a total installation of 10,000 MW in Norway and Sweden. The unit has 74 employees with competence in hydrology, production planning, power trading, risk management, modelling and market analyses, and is located in Oslo and Trondheim. The two-year trainee program consists of four separate assignments to different units, to give you a broad understanding of our business. Each assignment will be tailored to your needs, to develop the competence required to fill the permanent position in Nordic Energy after completion of the program.
