Future Development of Solar Power within Europe’s Energy System We are looking for eight students to participate in the Statkraft Summer Project 2013. The project is multi-disciplinary and is aimed at students who have finished at least three years of higher education. Participants work in a self driven team led by a student project manager, with supervision from Statkraft professionals. At the end of the project the students present their work to Statkraft’s Corporate management team. The duration of the project is approximately nine weeks, starting in mid June. The participants will be paid according to a fixed wage for student internship positions in Statkraft. Solar power is having a large impact on energy markets all over the world. Solar panels have become a commodity. An entirely new business has formed around this consisting of distributors, installers, financing institutions. Statkraft has currently limited activity in this area, but recognises that this development has a large impact on the existing power market and could also lead to new business opportunities. As such, it is important to better understand key aspects of solar power, both stand alone and together with future energy storage solutions. Statkraft’s Corporate Strategy department and the Market Trading and Origination business area will host this years summer project, which will focus on development of solar power. What will be the main markets, the economics, the technical, regulatory and environmental trends, the developments and challenges which will influence the European energy markets and Statkraft’s involvement in solar power? Who are we looking for? •You have a keen interest in the energy industry •You have completed at least three years of higher education within Business and Administration, Engineering, Economics, Marketing, Political/Social Sciences, Renewable Energy studies or other relevant fields, with very good results •You are flexible and enjoy working in teams, but can also work well independently •You are mobile in the mentioned period with regards to location •You have excellent communication skills in English and preferably one or more other foreign languages •You are competent, responsible and innovative •You are result oriented, well organised and have good analytical skills For more information go to: http://statkraft.easycruit.com/vacancy/926760/38521?iso=no.
