About Birdsview
Birdsview is a Norwegian technology company on a mission to change the way we preserve critical infrastructure to ensure a more sustainable and secure future.
Infrastructure is one of society’s most important assets. It includes the buildings we live in, the bridges we cross and the power grid that provides us with electricity. These structures are aging rapidly, and solutions that help preserve and secure critical infrastructure are now needed more than ever.
Birdsview's state-of-the-art technology combines radar (GPR), lidar, and AI to visualize what’s inside structures without destructive interventions. This allows for efficient and cost-effective inspection and monitoring of our most precious infrastructures - and enables clear, user-friendly visualizations that enhance understanding, extend asset lifespan, and promote material reuse - ultimately reducing costs and CO₂ emissions.
We have proudly launched our two first products for health monitoring of the power grid and concrete structures. Our product for the power grid is helping customers in the Nordics ensure reliable power supply to more than 4 million people and our product for concrete was released in 2024 - experiencing great traction.
We're a growing startup with a strong and dynamic team, backed by some of the leading VCs in Norway (Eviny Ventures, Statkraft Ventures, Hafslund, Eidsiva and Erik Bakstad, CEO of Ardoq) and we're looking for passionate individuals to join us on this exciting journey.
As our Robotics R&D Engineer, you’ll join our R&D team, working closely with the CTO and the rest of the team. You will play a core role in enhancing our core technology and product, focusing on the intersection between hardware and software on the 3D-tracker solution. Currently, we’re merging GPR sensors with other sensors (such as lidar, IMUs, and cameras) to give the solution spatial awareness. This enables the scanner to automatically position our results and measurements in a 3D-model of buildings and infrastructure.
Your contributions will drive innovation and ensure our solutions meet the highest standards in performance and usability.
You can work from our office in Bergen or Oslo.
Drive innovation in a rapidly growing startup environment
Implement and optimize 3D tracking solutions using various sensors (Lidar, camera, IMU’s)
Design, develop, and optimize SLAM algorithms for real-time applications.
Calibrate, test and benchmark the resulting tracking solution
Explore and iterate on the choice of sensors
Integrate 3D-tracker solution with our backend systems
Collaborate closely with the whole team to deliver a robust and scalable solution that meets the market demands
Experience with SLAM, 3D tracking, algorithm development or similar is a plus
Excellent programming skills (Python or similar languages)
Proven problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
You are a doer with a hands-on mentality that thrives in a fast paced startup environment
You enjoy getting responsibility of your own projects and choosing implementation strategies
Passionate about technology and innovation
Curious, eager to learn, and open to exploring new ideas
A team player who values collaboration and enjoys helping colleagues excel
Fluent in Norwegian and/or English (written and spoken)
Be part of a scaling startup making a real difference in society.
