Trainee at DOF

DOF Management AS and DOF Subsea Norway AS, both part of the DOF Group, form a world class integrated offshore contractor, delivering marine services and subsea solutions. We provide a diversified range of services through three key business lines: vessel chartering, subsea projects and engineering.

In cooperation with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, we are offering a structured, well established 18-month Trainee program. We are looking for a curious and forward-thinking master’s graduate with technical expertise and a commercial mindset.

Through structured learning, rotational assignments and with the support of an inspirational mentor, we will build a key player that can be a partner in translating vision into strategy in a focused and sustainable way.

Besides an introduction to vessel operations and management, the DOF journey will take you through the different project stages from tendering to project delivery. Analytical skills and the ability to solve complex challenges will be valued. As a graduate/trainee in DOF, you will have a steep learning curve and are expected to develop an overall understanding of our activities and business needs.

Tasks

  • Contribute to create value for DOF through exciting day-to-day tasks, directed by a supervisor in each visited department and location
  • Tasks will include, but not be limited to the following sub-disciplines; vessel management, vessel operations, engineering, market research, tendering, pricing, outlining technical solutions, risk management analysis, project execution, project management
  • Be part of several projects advocating social activities and sustainability
  • Participate in structured learning and networking, engage in rotational assignments and have a mentor throughout the program

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Structural, Naval, Maritime, Marine Technology, Mechanical Subsea Technology, Innovation, Renewable Energy) or Industrial Economics, Technology Management or similar
  • 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Maritime industry knowledge or interest
  • Business mindset
  • Interest in strategy and how to apply new technology to improve business
  • Fluent in English (an additional language is a plus)

  • Good communication skills both spoken and written
  • Able to demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to resolving problems
  • Capable of discussing topics of importance across functions, locations and generations
  • Ability to stay focused in ambiguous environments
  • High ethical standards
  • Digital mindset

If you are about to finish your master’s degree in technology, business, IT or law you should consider applying to this renowned program. Applicants with 1-2 years’ work experience are also encouraged to apply. The program lasts for 18 months and combines working in a world leading maritime company with an academic program with five modules conducted in Norway, Singapore and London. As a trainee you will work in a leading Norwegian maritime company and participate in an academic program with five modules in Norway and abroad. You will be hired in a permanent job and given a mentor that will support you as you embark on a global career.
