The two-year trainee program consists of four separate assignments to different units, to give you a broad understanding of our business. Each assignment will be tailored to your needs, to develop the competence required to fill the permanent position in Wind Strategy after completion of the program. As a trainee in Wind Strategy you will get a thorough understanding of the wind power organisation, and the tasks and challenges within onshore and offshore wind in Statkraft. Your initial posting will involve supporting the strategy team with market and strategic analysis to understand the attractiveness of markets and to assess Statkrafts competitive position within emerging auction regimes. This will involve, developing and maintaining merit order costs models for onshore and offshore wind, maintaining and interrogating auction simulation models, energy market and financial analyses, and undertaking other strategic analyses. Statkraft owns and operates wind farms in Norway, Sweden and in the UK, and has a number of wind power projects under development. In collaboration with Statoil, Statkraft recently opened the 317 MW Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm off the Norfolk coast in the UK. The two partners have also acquired Dudgeon offshore wind project, which has now gone into construction. Furthermore, Statkraft has recently acquired a 50% stake in the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm, which is part of Europe’s largest offshore wind zone on Dogger Bank. The Wind Strategy team develops long term analyses and sets the strategic agenda for the Business Area Wind Power and Technologies.
