Jernbaneverket is seeking Summer interns – up to 2 positions (temporary employment) The capacity section within the planning and development department at the Norwegian national rail administration – Jernbaneverket, is looking for up to two clever, self- reliant and enthusiastic students to help us fulfill our goals this summer. The period of will be from the 1. July to the 6. September. This can be adjusted with an earlier or later startup of up to two weeks and an earlier or later end of the internship by up to four weeks. Longer engagements will be evaluated positive. Work area Subjects of interest are: 1.Further development of Jernbaneverket infrastructure model in the simulation tool Opentrack. 2.Setting up and running capacity analysis with Opentrack and/or Treno. 3.Calibrating the real time traffic data timing points in the TIOS database, by comparing large datasets. 4.Design of a new program module for capacity calculations in an existing program. 5.Database development and corresponding user interface (for a line concept visualization). 6.Calibration of delay data, train performance and validation of simulations using onboard GPS registrations or data provided by the operator. Personal skills We are looking for clever, enthusiastic, creative, hard- working and most of all self-reliant students. Qualification You should either have a background from railroad engineering, railroad planning, mathematics, natural science or computer science currently in a bachelor or master program. You should be proficient in oral and written English or a Scandinavian language. We offer •Project based work with flexible hours. •Students that are studying for their bachelor are paid NOK 27 283 per month. •Students with a bachelor and that are studying for their masters are paid NOK 28 025 per month.
